Missing him!

So this week is Spring Break. It is supposed to be a fun week, but for us it is a week of worry. You see Chase is in Dallas this whole week. Naturally a mother worries about her child when they are out of their sight, but not being able to be there within 15 minutes drives me crazy. I miss his morning hugs and laughter mostly, and his afternoon talks when we get home.

I went to go clean his room on Monday, and as I was stripping his bed I started to get watery eyed. I sat on his bed and took a deep breath and gathered his sheets and left his room. I didn't go back in there the rest of the night. Last night I went back in there to finish from the night before and again I did the same thing. David came home and told me that he would be alright and that we would see him Sunday. To me that is sooo far away. So tonight I am going to try to stay away from home as long as I can.

Everything is so different when he isn't here. It is little things that throw me for a loop. Like turning left out of our neighborhood instead of right to go to daycare. Getting that extra 20 minutes of sleep in the morning because you don't have to go through a tickle war in the morning just to get him moving and dressed for daycare. The drive to leave work right on time just to pick him up sooner. I miss that when he isn't here.

Then I look at the bright side of the situation. David and I get to spend some one on one! It is fun just us. We completely enjoy our time together. This time we have planned a fishing trip Friday thru Sunday. We have never done this while Chase is gone. I am super excited to finally be able to go do something with my husband that he enjoys doing.
